we care. we listen. we do.
Positive Behaviour Support that sees the whole person
Specialist Behaviour Support, Early Intervention and Therapeutic Services for individuals, their families and support teams.
Behaviour support is about more than behaviour
At PBS Collective, we believe every person is more than their behaviour. Distress behaviours often tell us something important: that a person is overwhelmed, in pain, or that a need is not being met.
Our role is to understand what that behaviour is communicating, and to work alongside the person and the people who support them to build safer, more connected and more meaningful lives. We do this through person-centred, trauma-informed and rights-based practice, guided by our own Person-Centred Relational Support Framework, with CARE at its heart.
Learn about our FrameworkHow we work: CARE in practice
Connect with Care
We start by getting to know the person: their story, strengths, culture, communication and what matters to them.
Attend and Listen
We listen to what behaviour may be communicating, gathering information from the person, family, supporters and through comprehensive assessment.
Respond Relationally
We develop proactive, least restrictive strategies that protect dignity and keep the person and those around them safe.
Enable Quality of Life
We focus on choice, participation, belonging and independence, so the person can experience more good days.
How we can help
Accredited Studio 3 Trainers in Managing Signs of Distress
At PBS Collective, we’re proud to be accredited Studio 3 Trainers delivering the Managing Signs of Distress program. Studio 3’s internationally recognised Low Arousal approach helps teams understand and respond to distress with less confrontation, more connection, and a focus on safety, dignity and wellbeing.
Support where life happens
We work with people at home, in the community, in supported accommodation and group homes, at school, and in aged care, hospital and forensic settings. Our practitioners provide face-to-face services in Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria, and Telehealth services to people anywhere in Australia.
